This summer Airborne has commenced with the manufacture of a large bore high-pressure line for subsea excavation. The pipe will be used by Airborne’s clients flexlife, AGR and Van Oord, for subsea excavation in preparation for a pipeline to be installed afterwards, as part of Chevron’s Gorgon development. The pipe, a Service Intervention Line, combines high internal and external pressure rating with spoolability and will be run effectively directly from a reeler. The spoolable Service Intervention Line enables our clients to conduct the subsea excavation operation much faster and safer compared to conventional techniques. The pipe will be delivered later this year and will be used in the operation immediately.
