Production Line Engineering Manager

In this role you are responsible for the functioning, development and improvement of the production lines and ancillary equipment. This involves equipment design and selection, vendor management and negotiations, and ensuring that individual pieces of equipment are integrated into a robust, safe and reliable production line, that operates to specification. For proprietary equipment, you oversee the design, continuous improvement, and protection of intellectual property. You take overall accountability for the production lines, including automation and safety systems. You initiate improvements and development of “next generation” equipment. You are responsible for the coordination and supervision of the engineers in your team.
You and your team turn Airborne’s unique technology into an industrial production process, which makes you the bridge between Technology and Manufacturing.

The job profile requires leadership, taking responsibility and initiative, team spirit, discipline, accuracy, and effective communication and project management skills. You structure the work of your team and act independently. You need to be an innovator, with a fascination for production technology. We expect creativity and a solution driven mindset on both technical and organisational aspects.

You report to the Managing Director, and lead a team of some 4 people.

Education:  
Academic level in technical education such as mechanical, aerospace, marine or civil engineering.

Experience:  
At least 5 years experience with industrial engineering in a continuous production environment.
Experience with leading teams.
Experience with composite or polymer manufacturing is an advantage.

Competencies: 
Broad knowledge of production equipment including automation.
Negotiating skills and commercial acumen.
Leadership.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
